Eucalyptus ‘Belle fruited Mallee’

Eucalyptus preissiana

A multi-stemmed large shrub, this mallee hails from the south-west of WA. Its thick leaves, attractive deep yellow flowers, bell-shaped woody fruit and smooth creamy bark make it a lovely decorative tree and an attractive focal point for a smaller garden.

It grows to around 3m high with blooms to an impressive 30mm or more in diameter in Winter and Spring. Its flowers are followed by interesting bell shaped gumnuts, giving this variety its common name: the Bell Fruited Mallee. In addition to its showy display, the flowers are highly bird attracting. Ensure it’s planted in a sunny spot, in sandy loam, sandy gravel, loam, gravelly loam, sandy clay or limestone sand.
