Banksia

Think of this shrub for smaller gardens, rockeries or containers.  It has wonderful upright flowers during Spring, Autumn and Winter and looks fantastic planted on mass. Birds will love it too.  It suits mild acid to alkaline soils and is light frost tolerant.
