A dwarf form of the Sceptre Banksia, one of the most magnificent of yellow flowering banksias. Dense and compact, it will make a good choice for low hedging or feature planting. Its bright yellow spikes are prominent and well displayed, flowering in Summer, mainly December and January.
Endemic to the mid-west sandplains around Geraldton in Western Australia, it prefers light well-drained soil in an open sunny position, so avoid waterlogged soils. Does best in a Mediterranean climate and a good choice for coastal areas. Drought tolerant but frost tender.
