Eucalyptus websteriana – Websters Mallee

Eucalyptus Websteriana

An attractive small mallee-type Eucalyptus, distinguished by its lovely peeling mini ritchi-style bark and heart-shaped leaves. It has a naturally spreading habit, growing as wide as it does high, with yellow flowers appearing from spring to early summer, followed by decorative seed capsules.

This ornamental tree naturally grows in Western Australia from Esperance to Kalgoorlie on rocky outcrops, so it is happy in heavier soils as well as lighter ones, provided there is good drainage. It has low water needs once established, tolerates light frost, and attracts a wide range of wildlife, from bees to nectar-eating birds and other insects.
