Murnong Yam Daisy

Microseris lanceolata

Fast growing and suited to most soil types, this variable species has a fluffy seed head, similar in appearance to dandelions. Its rosettes of toothed long and narrow leaves have yellow flowers from Spring through to Autumn. Even its tuberous roots are edible (try roasting before eating, though can be eaten raw). It can handle drought and frost, though greater care will ensure better growth and flowering.
