This large ornamental shrub reputedly vaporizes citronella into the air to repel mosquitoes. Crushing the leaves will also release more of the oils to live up to its ‘mozzie blocker’ name. Try it as a hedging or screening plant for decks, pools, barbeque areas or near doorways – or as an inclusion in more cottage style gardens. Fine leafed and with soft pink tea tree flowers in Spring, the shrub will tolerate light frosts and grows well in a range of climates from tropical to cool temperate. A low maintenance perennial that thrives in sun and light shade.
