Wattle

Acacia glaucoptera – ‘Clay wattle’

This spreading shrub is a lesser known variety of acacia that will add intriguing, ornamental foliage to your garden. It’s red-tinged new growth brings added interest and pretty yellow spot flowers bloom in Spring. Prune it regularly to keep it looking its best and encourage new growth. Will happily tolerate up to -7 degree frosts and grow in part sun, but also handles full sun and a dappled shady spot too. Something unusual to try draping over retainer walls, as a low border plant or an interesting specimen in pots.
