Native Flax

Very popular with seed eating birds thanks to the attractive blue sprays of flowers that appear in spring and blue berries that follow in summer, this perennial spreads outward to form a good-sized clump. It’s a very low maintenance plant that only needs pruning every 6 – 8 years and while it can handle light frosts, it will discolour in winter if planted in colder climates like Canberra.
